DETAILED ITINERARY
Pick up from Kigali international airport or nearby accommodation by a representative from African vacation safaris. Enjoy a scenic 2-hour drive through Rwanda’s western highlands to giswati mukura national.
Arrive at the forest of hope visitor centre for orientation at 8am. A park ranger explains trekking rules and regulations. After the briefing, you will begin the trek through the lush Gishwati forest. The hike takes 2 to 5hours hike. Along the way you will spot other primates such as golden monkeys, blue monkeys, l’hoest monkeys as well as forest birds and colourful flora.

Once the habituated chimpanzees are located and these are 25-35 individuals. You will spend an hour with them observing their natural behaviour such as feeding, grooming and swinging in trees.
After the trekking, you will enjoy packed picnic lunch in the forest or return to the park headquarters. The ranger will summarise the trek, share conservation insights and you receive a certificate. After the safari, you will depart gishwati mukura and travel back to Kigali. On arrival, you will be dropped at the airport or hotel.
