1 Day Mount Bisoke Hike

DETAILED ITINERARY
Depart early from Kigali or Musanze and enjoy a scenic mountain view enroute to kinigi park headquarters. Arrive at kinigi by 7am, complete registration, collect the hiking permit and receive a walking stick. You will have a briefing before you embark on the hike.
After, you will be driven to the base of bisoke. You will then climb through the diverse ecological zones, rainforest, bamboo, afro alpine gaining 1000m in altitude and trekking varies. On average it can take 4 to 5hours, fit hikers 3 to 4 hours. While on the hike expect mud, steep slopes and changing weather or sudden rain are common.
On arrival at the summit, marvel at the emerald crater lake and spot views of the Virunga peaks. You will enjoy packed lunch before descending. After, you will descend the mount and this takes 2 to 3 hours. On arrival, you will head back to kinigi and then return to Kigali where you will be dropped at any place of convenience.
