2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari
This short but unforgettable adventure takes you deep into Rwanda’s misty volcanoes national park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas made famous by Dian Fossey. While on the Rwanda safari, you will spend an awe inspiring hour with a habituated gorilla family and experience the breath taking scenery of the Virunga volcanoes thus a true highlight of any African safari.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to volcanoes
Your African safari adventure begins with an early morning pick up from your hotel or from the airport, depending on your time of arrival. If time allows, you will have a Kigali city tour including a visit to the Kigali Genocide memorial centre for an insight into Rwanda’s history and culture. After, proceed with the journey to volcanoes national park.
On arrival, check into your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, have a visit to the Ibyiwacu cultural village where you will gain a deeper insight about Rwanda’s traditions and culture. After the visit, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and return to Kigali
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park ranger. While here, you will be allocated a gorilla family group and introduced to your guide. After, venture into the dense bamboo forests and misty slopes of the Virunga volcanoes. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend an hour with these majestic giants as you study their behaviours, interactions among others. The powerful but yet gentle presence that makes this one of the most iconic experiences on any African vacation safari.
After the trekking, you will return to the lodge for a relaxation and freshen up. After, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kigali. On arrival, you will be dropped off to your hotel or airport for your flight back home.
