3 Days Gorilla Trekking and Golden Monkey Trekking Safari In Rwanda

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to volcanoes
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, meet the safari driver guide. You will have a Kigali city tour where you will visit sites like Kigali genocide memorial and local artisan markets. After you will embark on 2-3hour drive to volcanoes national park. on arrival, you will check in the lodge for dinner and relaxation as you prepare for the next day activity.
Day 2; Gorilla trekking and visit the Iby’iwacu cultural visit
After an early breakfast, head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking rules and group assignment. With the ranger guides, set off into the forest to track one habituated gorilla family. The trek can take 1 to 5 hours depending on their location.
Once the gorillas are located, you will spend an hour observing gorillas, watch them feed, play, groom and interact within their natural habitat. Tus making it the most profound wildlife encounters on any African vacation safari. After you will return to the lodge for lunch and a relaxation.
Later in the afternoon, you will visit the Iby’iwacu cultural village where you will participate in various activities such as Rwandan dances, making brewed banana drink and many more. After, you will return to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
Day 3: Golden monkey trekking and transfer back to Kigali
After early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for the golden monkey trekking. The trek is shorter and less strenuous than gorilla trekking. Once the monkeys are located, you will spend an hour observing them and photograph these charismatic monkeys in the bamboo zone of the park.
After the trek, you will return to the lodge to freshen up and have lunch. After lunch, you will check out of the hotel and embark on the journey back to Kigali. On arrival, you will be dropped off at Entebbe international airport for your flight back home.
