DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to akagera national park – evening game drive
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be warmly welcomed by the driver guide. Embark on a scenic journey to akagera national park. on arrival, you will check into the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will head out for an afternoon game drive in the southern sector of the park where you will spot animals like zebras, giraffes, elephants, antelopes and many more. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise
Start early with a sunrise game drive through the parks northern sector which is the best area for spotting predators like lions, leopards and hyenas. You will keep your eyes peeled for elephants, buffalos and a variety of antelopes species including impalas and topis. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will have a relaxing boat cruise at lake Ihema where you will spot hippos, crocodiles and waterbirds. After the boat cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to volcanoes national park
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will have a morning game drive where you may spot animals that you may have missed in the early game drives then proceed with the journey to volcanoes national park. on arrival, you will check into the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking experience and departure
Early in the morning after breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will head into the forest in search of the gorillas. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend an hour with them as you watch them feed, play, breast feed, nurture their young ones and relate with each other in their natural habitat. After the trekking, you will return to the lodge and freshen up. Later check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Kigali. On arrival, you will be dropped at the international airport for your flight back home
