DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and city tour
On arrival, the safari guide will warmly welcome you and later enjoy a relaxed Kigali city tour which includes visiting the Kigali genocide memorial, local art galleries and craft shops among others. After the Kigali city tour, you will check into your lodge for a relaxation, dinner and night stay.
Day 2: Transfer to akagera national park and evening game drive
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to akagera national park. arrive in time and have a lunch. After lunch you will head out to lake Ihema for an afternoon boat cruise where you will spot animal species such as hippos, crocodiles, elephants, giraffes as well as bird species. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge and prepare for the evening game drive.
Later in the evening, you will head out into the park for a game drive. You will spot a number of wildlife species as they go back to their hiding places. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning game drive and transfer to lake Kivu
Early morning and have breakfast, then head out to the park for a morning game drive where you will look out for animals that you may have missed in the previous game drive. After, you will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will check out and embark on the journey to lake Kivu. On arrival, you will check into the lake side resort and spend the whole evening at leisure with activities such as swimming, kayaking and sunset viewing.
Day 4: Leisure at lake Kivu and departure
Wake up at leisure and spend the whole morning relaxing by the lake simply unwinding with a book and lake view. After lunch, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kigali. On arrival, you will be dropped off at Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
